Passionate about providing garments to fit women of all shapes and sizes, a large inventory of diverse stock is essential.
In 1992, this women’s fashion store was launched to give women access to expertly fitted garments, specialising in fuller figured sizes. From the beginning the business grew fast – customers loved the product. The one difficulty was having all the unique items in the various sizes in stock. When a size wasn’t available, customers would have to wait while their purchase was on back order and staff would go back and forth with communications to the customer and supplier, taking them away from other tasks. While not an ideal customer experience it also created a backlog of sales as the business owner believed in charging the customer once their product was sent.
Needing to grow the stock inventory, whilst maintain a healthy cash flow, the decision was made to look for some business funding options.
Previous experience with business loans was they took too long to grant, had poor customer service and the banks had too many restraints on lending to a small business. The business owner quickly realised they would have to go to an alternative lender who would not be as strict and provided a quicker personalised service.
