Many small businesses are on Facebook, to grow their online following and to connect with customers. With over 1.65 billion active monthly users,  leveraging the social network is a great way to grow your business.
Here are five best practices you can implement straight away to start leveraging Facebook effectively.

#1 Have Content and Community

Constantly adding value and engagement to your page will help both the following and its branding). Good content and a growing community will help in pushing your online reputation.
Start by growing your followers base before you start promoting. You have to build trust within your community first; your followers need to trust that you will share useful content that will be valuable to them. People will only work with your business when they trust it enough.

#2 Be Accessible

Add a customer support tab that features an FAQ or Q&A section about your products or services. This should also include practical information such as delivery and return policies, as well as other relevant information about your operations.
This simple feature on your company’s Facebook may not seem much, but it’s a huge help when it comes to customer engagement. It enables a stronger interaction between the provider and the consumer. Other followers can also easily jump in with their own comments and responses, which furthers the conversation.

#3 Engage Your Followers

Tying to #2, engage with your fans. Answer their queries and comments quickly, offer discounts or promos from time to time, and ask for their thoughts about certain topics you post about.
Encouraging conversations and sharing content of interest can boost your reputation and how consumers perceive your company. These positive views can easily turn into positive recommendations about your business.

#4 Start Events

Create Facebook events to connect with followers and meet them face-to-face. A workshop, seminar, a holiday celebration, or any other small event is a great way to get people talking about your brand and business. Have them invite their friends and family, and maybe even the kids if your market niche and celebrations are relevant.
You can count on recommendations, even a mention of your business.

#5 Use Promoted Posts

Promoting posts and ads may cost you some money, but the returns are often worth it. More followers means higher chances of getting targeted leads, which likely turns to sales. And because promoted posts are targeted towards users with similar interests, there’s a better chance of customer conversion.
Facebook is not only an ever growing platform for connecting with family and friends; it’s also the go-to marketing tool for many small business owners. Make sure you’re making the most of the growing social platform by following the tips and best practices we shared above.
